We set off from the centre of Lorenzago di Cadore and, in under 5 minutes, enter the forest.
We make a quick visit to the evocative open-air Sanctuary dedicated to St. John Paul II, then leave behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life as we're enveloped by white and red firs, and beech trees.
The walk is never difficult; here and there, the trees open up to reveal glimpses of Cridola (top right in the photo), Antelao, Marmarole, and even Laggio and Monte Tudaio.
Still in a wonderfully secluded setting, we continue on until we reach the final lookout point.
